Process
Research
We mapped out how a user would use the platform by creating user flows from the knowledge we had gathered from working on onboarding projects, as well as data we had collated from recordings of users using the login screen.
To understand what migrated users and new users would encounter when using Auth0 I read up to understand more about the API and I also did some discovery to understand how other platforms integrated a similar solution into their login processes.
Concerns
I discussed with an information architect about what was feasibly possible with the Auth0 tool and I had concerns about using the classic (legacy) experience or the new modern system in regards to security and how much was possible to change to match our current login UI and UX.
Ideation
With my research & discovery, I was able to understand what we needed to create for our usual users and those that would be migrated across. I worked with a Developer that was able to give me more details about what version of Auth0 they would be using.
Outcome
We came up in the end with designs that would fit the current scope of using the latest interface of Auth0 and at the same time to try to keep as much consistency with what we currently show users that wish to log in. The solution was to use the latest version of Auth0 due to security, so users would see our current login and once they clicked on continue, those that use Auth0 would be shown a new login screen that wouldn’t differ too much from what we currently offer our normal users.
Vision
When working on projects like this, I also want to think about the future of the platform. For this project, I came up with some options to improve the login page, so that it would be more on brand, but at the same time keep the UX in mind of which we wish a user to experience.
