Agency Use

To service agencies better, we wanted to enable self-signup, where an existing user account is used, the user should be able to log in, and their new application is tied to that user.

  • Scope: Design User Flow
  • Role: Concept, Research & Visual Design
  • Tools: Figma & Figjam
  • Collaborators: Engineers & UX Writer

Concept for an agency accounts dashboard

Existing Product & Problem

With the Onboarding Lobby – 1 application corresponds with 1 (newly created) main user account.
This means that if an Agency were to self-sign up, they would need to create new user accounts for each Advertiser under their agency.

Research

After understanding the customer journey, I proposed options to improve agency user account creation. I discussed these with stakeholders to determine feasibility.

My two ideas were to either use a modal for necessary details or redirect to a new page. Keeping users in the same area seemed preferable to avoid lengthening the process

How users currently create accounts. They have to fill in many forms.

Ideation

Screens showing the flow in a wireframes flow diagram of how an agency user could use the new journey.

I created a few options that I thought would work best for agency users to create an account quickly. I presented and talked about these ideas with stakeholders to decide what we were able to do within our scope.

My two ideas were to either have a user open up a modal to fill in the necessary details or to send them to a new page, however, I felt it would be better to keep them in the same area as sending them to another area would make the process feel longer.

Outcome

New Userflow.

We decided to display existing accounts to agency users and include a button for quickly creating new accounts via a modal. I collaborated with the UX writer to ensure the content was clear, addressing previous confusion.

This solution was also the easiest for engineers, fitting well within the project’s scope and the usual onboarding process.
